The Farmhouse is the largest property at Street Farm, which has been lovingly restored to a fabulous, spacious holiday home. Dating back as far as the 16th century, The Farmhouse was re-built in 2008 and upgraded once again in 2017 to create a wonderful home packed with sumptuous furnishings, stylish interiors and luxury touches. This is the ideal party house. This property is available to hire for weekend, mid-week and full week breaks throughout the year.
The kitchen is supplied with everything you need to cater for yourself. Groceries can be delivered to your door by Asda or Sainsburys. Our “where to eat” page has details of local pubs, restaurants, private catering companies and local food suppliers.
The opportunities for walking, cycling and horse-riding are superb with an extensive off-road bridleway network. Walk the trails, climb to the top of the fells or go paddling in the crystal clear waters of the river Eden. This is the place to step back in time and enjoy the freedom and peace of the big outdoors. The Farmhouse is available to hire on its own, or with any number of other properties at Street Farm for weekend, mid-week and full week breaks throughout the year.
Great Living Spaces
The heart of this home is the fabulous open plan kitchen / dining room, with its flagged floors, oak dining table and exposed stone walls. The dining table can seat up to 18 and for larger groups there is room for an additional table providing seated dining for 30. You can throw open the patio doors and extend your celebrations onto the large patio overlooking the gardens.
After dinner, you can get comfy in the movie lounge with its huge squashy sofas or chill out in the snug and chatter away with friends to the early hours.
Cooking & Dining
The Farmhouse kitchen has been designed for large-scale catering and has everything you need to cater for large groups. It has a huge island, double oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher .
Groceries can be ordered on-line and delivered to your door and there is also a large supermarket at Kirkby Stephen.
We have several excellent award-winning inns close by, which cater for large groups as well as a number of local private catering companies. Whilst we leave you to book direct with all suppliers we are always on hand to provide ideas, recommendations and details of local suppliers to help with all your party planning needs.

Items included with the cost of your stay: Linen, tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, dishcloth, salt & pepper, toilet rolls, bin bags, hand soap, shampoo, bath mat. Kindling and Logs for wood burning stove. High chair and travel cot available upon request. Gas BBQ available upon request at a small additional charge.
Garden - large private patio and garden leading straight from the kitchen/dining room. The views from the garden are quite spectacular looking across over the hillside behind the farm. There is a large outdoor dining table and chairs and a gas BBQ.
Courtyard - to the front of the farmhouse there is a communal courtyard which is a lovely space to sit in the evening and watch the sunset across the valley.
Car parking - ample car parking outside the main gates. Parking is available to the door of your property for loading and unloading.
Walking routes - lovely footpaths leading straight from our gate. Maps provided.
Horses - bring your horse on holiday, we have purpose-built facilities with grazing and stabling for your own horse
Utilities & Services
- Our properties are centrally heated by our bio-mass boiler which provides constant hot water and heating. Each property has a wood burning stoves. Logs are provided at no extra cost.
